Case Study

TLC Diversified

Building a new foundation for a Florida construction firm.

Mighty Fine Design Co. partnered with TLC Diversified, one of Florida’s largest privately-held construction firms, to help rebrand themselves and develop a new website. They provide top-of-the-line, full-service general contracting services for the water & wastewater industry. While they have grown leaps and bounds since their inception over the past 35+ years, TLC came to us with a challenge they needed to solve. They wanted to start attracting the top talent to their workforce.

And as a result, we gave their business confidence in a professionally designed identity and web presence that can compete at a national level — attracting the type of talent who can work on the same level.

Branding & Identity

Developing TLC’s new branding strategy and visual identity

The branding process began with a meeting to determine who TLC was. Before we even began sketching, we wanted to first understand TLC as well as they do. So we met and took a deep dive into their history, tone, competitors, and so on…  the whole nine yards.

Among other things, we learned that they were very family-oriented. Meaning that TLC cared deeply about making their team feel like a family — one that their employees could build lifelong careers with. Additionally, a commitment to safety and being environmentally friendly were other key factors.

After we finished the research, we got to work. The first item we tackled was their logo. Our approach was to develop a mark that would represent their family of employees: bold, no-frills, earnest, and hard-working individuals. And the results spoke for themselves — during the unveiling of the new mark, there was a collective pride in it among TLC’s employees.

From there, we developed a system of typography, color palette, and visual guidelines for them to follow to ensure their future branding endeavors remained consistent with the foundation we built.

Web Design & Development

Creating a new digital presence for the web

After we established the foundation for their branding strategy, we moved on to developing and designing their website. Their previous website had a few key issues we addressed. We ensured that the new site was mobile-friendly, visually cohesive, and had a clear user experience — making sure every page on their site was easy to find and get to.

Another key factor was being able to show their body of work. So we designed a layout for their work that would showcase each project’s details and associated aerial photography.

And of course, most importantly, we designed the site to have a seamless experience funnel for any potential new hires. The site features clear and ready access to their application page from anywhere on the site — so applying is always only a click away (literally). We made the application process intuitive and easy to navigate.

“I needed a new logo and website as ours was outdated and the logo was not one that really made a statement about our firm. I needed them to come up with something that put me on par with my competitors that are 10X my size and they did just that! My new logo and website turned out better than I could have imagined!”
