Setting Sail from the Past and Into the Present
Mighty Fine’s objective was to guide the Tampa Bay History Center toward becoming the brand it truly deserves—one with consistency, clarity, and strong recognition across every touchpoint. Our approach was comprehensive, considering visitor demographics, audience engagement, and how to distinguish the museum’s identity from local competitors.
Our team was thrilled to collaborate on this landmark Tampa project, delivering a full suite of creative services: branding, web design, motion graphics, video production, and photography. The goal was to elevate the History Center’s presence and deepen the community’s connection with Tampa Bay’s rich cultural heritage through a modern, unified experience.
The challenge was to modernize and clarify the brand without losing the familiarity that loyal visitors had grown to trust. The result: a fresh, contemporary identity that reflects the museum’s evolving exhibits and forward-thinking values.
Branding and Identity
Our first priority was a full Tampa Bay History rebrand. The existing logo was not vector-based, making it impossible to scale without distortion. Its color palette was overly complex, creating conflicts across applications. Most importantly, the old mark failed to clearly communicate that it was a History Center—the typography emphasized Tampa Bay, while “History Center” appeared too small to read.
We developed a new logo system that restored balance, clarity, and purpose—clearly identifying the institution while maintaining its connection to the region. The result was a flexible, scalable mark that worked seamlessly across all formats—from business cards to large outdoor banners. With a primary and seconday color pallette that allows for brand consistency across all design systems.
Collateral Design
We refreshed all print and internal collateral, from staff materials and educational brochures to exhibit signage and wayfinding. The updated design system introduced visual consistency and improved usability across every format, reinforcing the museum’s new brand identity.
Media & Production
Our media team delivered a full suite of storytelling assets—professional photography, large-scale video production, and motion graphics. These were used to inform and excite the public about the museum’s major expansion, highlighting both the scale of the new exhibits and the History Center’s enduring mission to preserve local heritage.
Rebranding Tampa’s Cultural Landmark
Mighty Fine reimagined the Tampa Bay History Center’s brand with a scalable new logo, cohesive collateral, and a modern digital presence. Our comprehensive creative strategy unified the museum’s identity across all touchpoints—resulting in a 40% increase in website visits and attendance.
